Stephen Shenker and Leonard Susskind awarded 2023 Dirac Medal

Stephen Shenker, the Richard Herschel Weiland Professor and professor of physics, and Leonard Susskind, the Felix Bloch Professor in Physics, have won the 2023 Dirac Medal of the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics, an award they share with two other physicists. The medalists were honored for their research on string theory, which attempts to unify the theory of relativity with quantum mechanics to bring together all physical interactions in the universe under one theoretical framework.
