Asad L. Asad receives 2023 C. Wright Mills Award
Asad L. Asad, an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology, has been awarded the 2023 C. Wright Mills Award from the Society for the Study of Social Problems for his book Engage and Evade: How Latino Immigrant Families Manage Surveillance in Everyday Life. The society gives this award to the author of the most outstanding book in the tradition of Mills, who was dedicated to a search for a sophisticated understanding of the individual and society.
